Recently selected to lead SystemOne by our international board of directors, Arshad is a well-recognized international development leader. He was most recently CEO of Climate Action Systems (CAS), the non-profit organization behind the Planet app. Prior to Climate Action Systems, Arshad led strategy and development for the World Bank’s health, education, social protection, infrastructure, and environmental projects in over 50 countries. He is widely recognized as the innovative force behind The Development Marketplace, a globally recognized program that was featured in Harvard Business Review and the New York Times. 

Arshad has also held leadership positions in industry, where he co-led Rio Tinto’s first-ever corporate venture fund. In that role, Arshad developed investments in clean energy and green ventures, and he built partnerships with Amazon Climate Fund and HP Ventures among others.  Arshad’s international experiences living in China, India, and Mongolia have given him a deep appreciation for the earth’s diverse cultures and ecosystems. Arshad is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, English, and a learner of French and Arabic. He enjoys traveling, hiking with his dogs, and keeping pace with his 3 daughters and wife.
